Kathy Ritchey, Ph.D.

Kathy Ritchey, Ph.D. is a psychologist who received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Ball State University.  She has been providing psychotherapy, training, supervision, consultation and administrative services within the behavioral health field for over 30 years.  She was Clinical Director at Dublin Counseling Center/Syntero, Inc. for 15 years.  In this role, she valued the opportunity to train and supervise therapists in their development of therapeutic skills which increased the healing opportunities for individuals in need. She was also involved in the development of new programs to meet the emerging needs of the community.  Dr. Ritchey continued to provide therapy services throughout her career whether she was in an administrative role or working full time as a therapist.  Each of these roles contribute to her passion for supporting the healing process for clients regardless of the specific symptoms that bring them to therapy.

What To Expect At Your Visit

My approach to therapy starts with getting to know YOU including your reason for seeking therapy, symptoms and issues that are troubling you the most, vision of what you would like to accomplish in therapy and description of what matters to you the most.  Your healing journey will begin by identifying what ways your life feels unbalanced or out of sync with your true self and purpose.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding and encourage the adoption of new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client. In the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
